Tie Dye

It’s Make it Monday! Tie-dying shirts is a major commitment, so unless it’s summer and we’re outside, we stick to more manageable tie-dying projects.  Here's a simple tie-dye craft you can do anytime and anywhere, with much less mess!

Tie-Dye Flowers

Materials:

  • Coffee filters

  • Markers

  • Spray bottle or dropper

  • Pipe cleaners

How to:

  1. Use markers to color coffee filters

  2. Place colored coffee filters on newspaper lined cookie sheets (or something to protect the surface underneath from being tie-dyed)

  3. Spray the coffee filters with a spray bottle of water or use the dropper to squeeze drops of water (using a dropper is great for those with more developed fine motor skills, OR for those who need some practice developing their fine motor skills)

  4. Watch as the water spreading creates a tie-dye effect

  5. Let dry

  6. Twist coffee filter to form a flower shape and attach a pipe cleaner for the stem

If you're motivated to tie-dye shirts, here's the kit we use.

This looks fun!

We always love to pair a craft with a book. This is the cutest book about giving yourself grace and being patient with yourself.
